GEN Group is a restaurant management company that has been in operation for over 31 years. We own and operate 27 restaurants. We are currently the largest franchisee of Little Caesars Pizza restaurants in Canada with 10 in the Vancouver Lower Mainland and 11 in Edmonton and Strathcona. We also currently own and operate 6 modern unique-concept restaurants in the Edmonton Area. This brand (Burrito Libre) was developed solely by GEN Group and there are currently five Burrito Libres operating in the Edmonton/Strathcona market with the sixth restaurant scheduled to open in Spring/Summer 2017. GEN Group has enormous potential for growth and development, given the market acceptance of our brands, our profitable performance and the determination of our skilled management team.
There are three main reasons that GEN Group will continue to succeed in Western Canada: first is the lack of direct competition (a highly un-saturated market for fast casual restaurants), the second is the high demand for healthy, gourmet fresh food of this caliber in Western Canada and the third is our ability as experienced restaurateurs to ensure the success of each additional restaurant. The Vancouver Lower Mainland continues to show extremely strong population growth. Statistics Canada reported the 2011 population to be approximately 2.3 million people with an increase of over 9% since 2006.* This trend is further pronounced in municipalities like South Surrey, likely because of the prospering economic environment and strong desirability of living conditions in the area.
Ownership & Plan for Growth
GEN Group is a privately owned and operated company in every aspect. Our senior team determines pricing, training, building and advertising goals for our Burrito Libre and California Subs brands. We are also the largest Little Caesars Franchisee (by store count) in Canada. We are full-time restaurateurs with over 150 years combined experience and we are engaged in every aspect of the business. Since we have very few shareholders we are highly capable of moving quickly and implementing business strategies with very little lead time. Our senior team is small, yet highly capable and driven to succeed. We are currently looking to further expand all brands under management. We are actively pursuing restaurant sites available in Western Canada. * Murray and Sandy Sereda pictured at the opening of GEN Groups’ first Restaurant in June 1985. * http://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2011/dp-pd/hlt-fst/pd-pl/Table-Tableau.
